Welsh Gifts

Wales is a land of rugged mountains where life has been hard over the cenuries for it's inhabitants. Unlike the Catalans, or Italians the Welsh were never great traders nor travellers, but spent their lives in their own self-sufficient communities. Rather than trading and buying in gifts, Welsh men and women tended to create their own hand-crafted uniquely Welsh Gifts using the natural resources of the country - the wood from our forests, the slate from our mountains, the wool from our sheep, and even gold from our small mines.

These unique Welsh gifts are now available worldwide through our online Welsh gift shop. This is a living tradition. As well as traditional crafts such as Welsh Love Spoons and Celtic Jewellery, there are now modern innovations - such as using slate to make clocks rather than roofs.
